Since 1st July 2005
Update 9 April 2010

eProcurement Unit has broaden the usage of eProcurement to all users of Borneo including Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan. As an initial stage of gathering information on user profiles from PTJs all over Borneo, a few dedicated officers from eProcurement Unit and Commerce Dot Com Sd. Bhd. were appointed to carry out such responsibilities.

On 20 July 2006, a data collection and briefing program for PTJs around Kuching was held at 17th floor Auditorium, Bangunan Sultan Sultan Iskandar, Kuching, Sarawak with the cooperation from Sarawak's Federal Secretary Office and Treasury of Sarawak. Only 58 pioneer PTJs (where 5 users from each PTJ) were ready to implement eProcurement and were invited for the program. The program was also being attended by eProcurement's Project Director, Deputy Project Director and a secretariat constituted of few officers from eProcurement Unit and Commerce Dot Com Sdn. Bhd.

At Sandakan, the data collection and briefing program was held on 24 July 2006 at Dewan Institut Latihan Perindustrian Sandakan. 18 selected PTJs were invited during that program.

The same program was held for data collection of PTJs around Tawau, Sabah on 26 July 2006 at Dewan Kolej Kejururawatan Tawau for 20 selected PTJs.

By the end of 2006, eProcurement Unit with the cooperation of Commerce Dot Com has defined targets for 2007 and a planning for next 5 years till 2012. The eProcurement rollout missions for year 2007 is to complete and furnish off the modules under eProcurement system and intensify the eProcurement usage among all 28 Ministry and departments.

Therefore, in order to accomplish the respective year 2007's rollout mission, 3 Key Performance Index (KPI) has been identified, which are:

  1. Total transaction value of Government's procurement worth RM3 billion which is nearly 30% of total transaction value upon year 2012;
  2. A minimum additional numbers of 555 PTJs that are eP enabled; and
  3. A minimum numbers of 10,000 suppliers that eP enabled (have smart card with smart card reader and do transaction online).

Until the end of July 2007, total transaction value via eProcurement is RM4.5 billion and numbers of eP enabled PTJs stands at 1,1419.
